25th Dec. has always been an important day in my life. when I was a school student and was studying in Johnsons Girls Hr Sec School Jabalpur, we celebrated this day with great enthusiasm. Somebody always came dresssed up as Santa and distributed sweets among students. we used to have a party and exchange of gifts among our classmates.Those small stationary things like an eraser or a small coloring pen as a gift was a real incentive for the day.
After many years when I became a teacher ,Christmas again became an important event every year. Before closing our school for winter break we always had colorful program and a party. Children many of them from Junior section came dressed up as Santa,sang Christmas carols and it used to be a grand day.Some tiny voices wishing me Good Morning mam, Merry Christmas mam still echoes in my mind.
Christmas 2009 is an extremely different day. I am thousands of miles away from my home, my school, my country but I am with my children, my family and my beloved ones. Today a real angel Santa came to me and whispered in my ear Merry Christmas. I could realize only today what exactly is the meaning of being Merry. This little angel is my darling Ridam.
